HOW TO: Integrate Google Buzz Into Your WordPress Blog

February 17th, 2010

Have you hear about Google Buzz yet?

LOTS of people have.

It has taken off like a firestorm with Gmail users.

People who don’t like Twitter, are flocking to Google Buzz.

Why?

From what I gather, it’s because these users don’t like having to script their messages into 140 characters.

They have to edit and re-edit Read the rest of this entry »

Increase Photography Profits

January 13th, 2009

It has been said that you set the expectations for your entire year, by the way you begin your year in January.
Now whether that means extensive business plans (I have recently seen statistics that say a one page business plan works as well as a 100 page one), or seeking new ways to increase business with the same skills you already have, but in another creative way – or changing your surroundings to renew and refresh your setting.  Whatever you choose to do – could be a combination of all – let the spirit of renewal be your guide.
Always, the New Year signals a time where everyone thinks they have to resolve to be a better person, to do better in their lives, to make more money.   And that can be a good thing, if it is done with a positive energy, and not just because the ‘world’ expects it.
Without going into a huge transformation all at once, in one day on Jan 1st, to begin rocking the world on Jan. 3rd – it may be better to plan to improve the area you want to improve, on a gradual basis.  One where you can measure the results, the improvements – each and every month.
For instance, say that you have 4 clients Read the rest of this entry »

Retirement Savings for Entrepreneurs

November 25th, 2008

Below is a very tiny fraction of information from this absolutely incredible interview with Jim Lange.
Today, I would like to introduce to you a friend of mine, who has some information to share with all of us as small businesses, that you can’t just necessarily pick up on your own.
Jim Lange is a CPA, an attorney, and a registered investment advisor. He is the owner of a CPA firm, a registered investment advisory firm and the owner of a law firm that practices solely in the area of retirement and estate planning. Jim has practiced in Pittsburgh for twenty-nine years. Jim has also been quoted in the Wall Street Journal twenty-nine times and his articles have appeared in most of the top retirement and estate planning journals.
Jim is also the author of, “Retire Secure”, a book I highly suggest that you purchase. It’s a best seller published with Wiley which has received glowing testimonials from over sixty-five financial professionals including Charles Schwab, Roger Iveson, Ed Slott, and even Larry King. And without further ado, I would like to welcome my friend and your investment advisor for the moment, Jim Lange.
“  ……………….  That is the traditional retirement plan and that is the way a lot of small employers and small businesses and entrepreneurs, where they have in affect a one person plan and often that plan is called a SEP, a Simplified Employee Pension Plan. And that is a reasonable choice for a lot of people. I think here, that we can do better. What is even better than tax deferred; that is you get the tax deduction now, but you have to pay income tax on the money later, is tax free.
A better way of doing this with this tax free money is a type of retirement plan called a Roth IRA. Now with a Roth IRA, you put money into an account but you don’t get a tax deduction for it, but once you put the money in and it starts growing, assuming that you have the money invested for five years or more, when it’s time to take the money out or at harvest time if you will, you not only don’t have to pay tax on the money that you put in originally, but you don’t have to pay tax on all the growth, all the dividends, all the accumulations, etc.
While the first type of retirement plan, which is the traditional plan, which is often called a SEP or a TO, or even a one person 401K plan, is a good thing because you get a tax deduction. The bad news is you have to pay tax when you take it out. With this type of retirement plan, the Roth IRA is going to grow income tax free, and that money will grow income tax free for the rest of your life, the rest of your spouse’s life, the rest of your kids and even the rest of your grandchild’s life………………………………. “
When you go on to read the information Jim shares, you will be able to plan your investments and retirement to best suit your exact needs.

Armand Morin Live! and the Benefit of Attending Live Events

November 10th, 2008

Armand Morin Live!! Let’s GO…………

When you attend events, you are exposed to ideas and energy that you just cannot capture when you are sitting at home working away in your office – alone.

Being in an environment where there are like minded people is exhilerating.  You NEVER know who you will meet.  When I see the name tags of some of the guests, I am stunned that they have taken time away from their hugely successful businesses, to be in the crowd.   And I know why………  they know and understand the power of crowds.
These experts in their own fields are there to meet others with knowledge that they can combine for an even more powerful presentaton to educate more people in the future.  They know that they will meet even more people to work with and share knowledge.  It is enticing.   Seductive, even!
You REALLY need to come to the next live event that you can!

Who will YOU meet there????
Until next time -
Mary

WHAT EVENT SHOULD YOU TRY FIRST??

Try this event.  I guarantee that you will be blown away with the power of the speaker onstage, and the quality of the people you will meet there.  Who will you be able to combine knowledge with?

Eric Graham – The Conversion Doctor

November 7th, 2008

The interview with Eric Graham ROCKS!

Working with an incredibly interesting variety of high end clients, combined with Eric’s intuitive mind and keen sense of curiosity in trends, Eric Graham has a sense of things to happen that will benefit every one who has the good fortune to benefit from his counsel.

One of Eric’s forte’s in business, is his insight into testing and drilling down to each and every part of a client’s sales message, to see what works, and keep tweaking until he narrows down exactly the right components that will increase Visitors to a Business, into Buyers in a business.

What Eric has done for me in the past, and continues to do on an ongoing basis, is to test the photos and poses that I provide for my clients and for his clients.  He painstakingly tests one pose against another, with and without poses, pointing, or doing other “actions’ on a  website.

You will be able to benefit from that information as well, as you receive each month’s new material.  And that’s great – however, that is only the tip of the iceberg so so spaek – of what Eric delviers to you in incredibly valuable information and advice.

Eric goes into detail regarding the concept of becoming a Photography Consultant to your clients and prospective clients.  When Eric talks …..Clients Listen.  Usually because they are paying him about $30,000 for his advice!   So Read the rest of this entry »
