Who in the Heck Reads Privacy Policies?

August 27th, 2008

**This excerpt is from Eric Graham, the Conversion Doctor **

But my testing and deep level analysis of online visitor behavior has shown…

While only a small percentage of your visitors will read your privacy policy, the ones that DO read it are very, very serious about making a purchase.
In fact, a recent study I conducted based on the Google Analytics data from over two dozen websites shows that while only 11% of visitors clicked on privacy policy links, of those who did, 17.4% went on to make a purchase.

Compare this to the fact that the average overall, conversion rate for the websites in this study was 2.9%, and you can see how visitors who click on your privacy policy are FAR more qualified and closer to making a buying decision than those who do not.

Most online marketers and business owners know that to avoid getting into legal trouble they need to post a privacy policy on their website.

But what many are apparently unaware of is, a well crafted privacy policy can contribute to Read the rest of this entry »

Your Own Stock Photography

August 27th, 2008

Once in a while you may have clients who may prefer to not represent themselves on their website.  I am certain you have run into people during your career who are uncomfortable in front of a camera – and their photo show this discomfort.  So don’t pressure them.    Be prepared for this objection, with Stock Photography.

In my experience, and yours too I am sure – I have discovered

that taking photos for websites has more of a purpose than only

making a site more personalized.

There can be as many varied reason for these specific photos – lots and lots

of photos - as there are subjects to photograph.

I personally work a majority of my time with Online (Internet)

How To Shoot Individual Photos at Events

August 27th, 2008

Before An Event

1.  Terms negotiations with Promoter: Will you be pre-paid for your services?  Meaning, you will be paid one amount by the promoter, and will take photos of every person at the event that wants one taken.

Or will it be on a prospective basis? Meaning that your earnings will be based on how many people you shoot on an individual basis.

  1.  Learn about the event you are shooting.  How will the guests be using the photos you take?  Will they want transparent backgrounds, or is there a theme that is appropriate.  Will you use a white background with props, or a greenscreen background?
  2. Plan your setup.  Where will you be located?  Make sure there are not huge Read the rest of this entry »

Becoming a Photography Consultant

August 27th, 2008

One of the things that separates great photographs from a friend or a neighbor with a digital camera trying to accommodate a friend ‘on the cheap’.  We, as professional photographers, know how to move the body so that it falls easily into the poses.  Our skill, our eye for the pose, our knowledge of how to properly use posing to increase exposure for marketing purposes.  THIS is what sets us far above the amateur shooter who wants to “feel like” a photographer.

Our ability, as professional photographers out there perfecting our skills every day is what makes us valuable to our prospective clients.  We need to continue to grow, to be inventive in our photography and how we compose images.    Staying on top of current trends and new opportunities opens doors that we would otherwise not know existed.

Learning what conversion rates are, why they are important – and relaying that to our clients in relation to using our photography on their websites, and in their marketing efforts, is what will set us apart – where there will BE no competition!

When you have finished each course in this series, ‘ The New Business of Photography’ you will be prepared with the skills you need to expand your business locally.  Becoming the local expert – the only Photography Consultant who teaches their customers more than how to pose.  You will be teaching them how to Make More Money, as you add significantly to your own bottom line as well.
